Default Hello from Royse City, Texas

I am hoping this post will get thru I think I screwed up the first 2 times trying to post this intro.
I am hoping that the 2003 used Silverado with 109k miles on it will live up to the chevy truck reputation. I have had freinds tell me for years that they either had a chevy truck or knew somebody with a chevy truck that got 200 to over 300k miles on them before they got rid of them, sometimes they may have to replace a transmission or do a overhaul or engine replacement but after that it just kept going.

I look forward to hearing from all of you to help me keep my used chevy truck alive, it has the 4.8 auto combo which I have heard will hold up, I wanted the 5.3 for some more hps but had too good of deal to pass up so settled for the 4.8 engine which also seems to be a good engine and may give me a few more mpgs. Adios for now, I'll be back from time to time with questions.

A lot of the "secret" to long life for a vehicle is how you treat it. Do the maintenance - all of it that's recommended, when it's recommended - and it will help a lot. Hopefully the first owner took care of it and did maintenance on it as well.

Welcome StringBender! My 99 has 150,000 on it, my 78 has 200,000 on it, my Dad's 94 Suburban has 185,000 on it, so yeah, they can last a while.

I have a lot of family not too far from you in Rockwall. I've spent a lot of time on that side of the lake.

Welcome, you will find that they do hold up quite well, especially if you take care of it....
