After reading the "how to" on the DIC install I bought one and installed it on a 08 gmc 1500 wt.
After installation I could not get the truck to start, just a real slow roll and click click. I boosted it and it started up right away, drove it, played with the new DIC and all is good. Today, I tried the truck from the warm confines of the kitchen, with the remote start. It fired up, ran through it's cycle, shut down, all's good. Not, tried the truck a couple of hrs later and nothing, just some faint clicks. Adding a boost does nothing, suddenly Theft Content appears on the DIC, was not there yesterday. Tried disconnecting the battery for a few mins and nothing.
The remote start was added about 1 year ago, bought from GM and Installed by a GM sub-contractor.
Thank's in advance
Rick
PS
I'm not even sure the WT has the theft content feature>

I;m wondering if the new DIC is constantly draining power. That would explaing the clicking noise (low battery) and the theft notice. Try looking into the wiring, I think something might be wrong. Good luck.

Did you have the key on for awhile? My friend has a 08 and was messing with the sterio and playing with everything when he first got it and ran the battery down.
There seems to be all kinds of battery there, it is showing over 12 volts and even with a boost it would not do anything.
Rick

I'm very confused on this one. Sorry I can't help any further on this. Hopefully someone has a better idea than me. Best of luck.

We sent the truck off to the dealership this past monday, turns out there was something wrong with the dealership installed remote starter. They never really got into any detail other than the something with the remote start had to be replaced, under warranty
Thanks for all your help
Rick

Glad it got worked out for you.
