    Default trans case

    Yo guys just signed in the forum. Question. is there a viscious coupler on a trans case for a 1999 Z71 chev silverado 5.3ltr with a 4l60e trans.

    The Autotrac (NV246) transfer case was optional. Do you have a lever to shift the 4wd or push buttons? If you have push buttons, does one of the buttons say "auto4wd"? What does the tag on the transfer case say? The 246 in my Suburban has a tag on the back side of the t-case that says New venture model 246 attached to it.

    Even then, I don't think it's a fluid based "viscous coupling". The manual I have calls it a "clutch pack", but, for your purposes, that's probably just semantics.
