    Question Smoked Chrome Grille

I have been trying to think of some stuff to do to the exterior of my truck and came upon the idea of smoking the grille on my truck so it looked like a black chrome grille. Has anyone tried this? If so, I would like to see some pics of it so I can try and decide wether I want to do it. It's an 06 Silverado.

I'm not sure if it is, but if its like my grille, it might not work because it is just plastic with a chrome film-like coating on it. They would probably use this or a similar method on the newer trucks in the interest of light weight and low cost. If it is by chance real, or some material that would work with smoking, I think it would be a great mod. Hope this helps, keep us posted!

Yeah, I guess that is what i am thinking about doing to it. Smoking it is a better way to describe it. I just haven't seen it done before and wanted to see if anyone else had seen it or done it. my truck is black, so I thought it would look decent with something you dont see on the trucks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
