    Cool problem fixed

I took my truck back to the mechanic shop and they told me that my cataliytic convertors were bad. that was my problem! my truck was just constipated! they want $150 each for a cat. and a total for them to fix it would be around $500. I just did it myself for $free.90. havent had a problem since.

    Default been there done that

I had a 88 bronco, around 80,000 miles it ran like crap, was sluggish and started getting that smell. Had a friend that was working for the ford dealership. He got me employee price on exaust system. I did not want to cut and weld, so it was a one piece unit from manifolds back to muffler, y shaped. After that it ran like brand new. Also on my '95 gmc Z71 around same mileage started acting up..took it to Midas, they measured the temperature in front of and behind the converter. If i remember correctly the temperatue should be hotter behind the converter ( after the reaction takes pace) than in front of...mine was the opposite. They cut and welded a new one in, once again it worked great after that.

I had a 2000 S-10 Blazer that needed a new converter and the dealership wanted $800 to fix it. I had it done at a local exhaust shop for $130 and it fixed the problem. Good luck!
