My fiancee has a 1998 S10 standard cab 2WD truck with a 2.2L. Here service engine light keeps coming on and I can't get it turned off. heres the story.
Two codes are causing it to come one: one is that the crankshaft position sensor is malfunction and the other is that the camshaft position sensor has a low input.
I have put BOTH a cam and crank sensor in it and the code keep coming back. The service engine light is most frequent when the weather is cold outside.
The starter is real draggy and it's like the truck doesn't want to crank like a fuel injected vehicle should. i put a new battery in it and it really didn't help much and the current starter is only about 8 months old.
Does anyone have any ideas.
I would check the timing or check the distributer gear for excess wear or possibly the timing chain.
