Thrush has been around for years and like any muffler company you can get different grades of their product.

I had on my mustang some nice 35inch glass packs that were some great mufflers.

LAS VEGAS, NV, November 1, 2005…According to wildbirds.com, the life expectancy of a “Hairy Woodpecker” is less than 10 years. The experts obviously haven’t heard of the legendary Thrush “Woodpecker” brand that manufactured red hot glasspack™ and turbo-style performance mufflers since 1966.

They do have some cheap mufflers they make but they have some good ones also you have to look close at the design and materials.

Some mufflers are coated steel some are painted others are stainless steel or all aluminum like on bikes this figures into the price you have to pay also.
Why pay for polished stainless when they will be covered in mud and no one will ever see it

Head down to your local hot rod hang out on a friday night and you will see all kinds of setups and can hear what some sound like you might not like the flowmaster and like maganaflow better and even then depends on the model of the muffler.

I dont like loud trucks to me it takes away from the overall appearance a nice deep rumble is more pleasing, loud brassy sounding exhaust sounds cheap IMNHO

I have a pair of Thrush Turbos on my 350 Suburban, to finish off the "factory duals". I don't recall if there is a particular model name/number.

They have a nice growl at idle, a little grin at take-off, and I barely hear them at speed.

I think they're great for the price.
