Silverado power window adjustment
2001 Silverado 1500 extended cab
The passenger window used to go up & down easily. Without warning it became slow to go down and woild go up a little at a time and stop. I replaced the motor and it is better. It will go down probably a little slower than it should. It goes up very slowly and the motor gets hot. I assume it is binding and needs adjustment. the tracks have grease on them and I cannot see anything wrong.
I don't know how you are supposed to replace the motor but I just took the 3 bolts out, took the plastic drum with the cables on it and put it on the new motor. I can see the cable on the bottom front pulley and it looks ok.
If we pull on the window it seems to go up fine. How do you adjust the window to be sure it is not binding?

Darn it. I wish someone had answered this. I just replaced the driver side motor and it is still stupid slow. Has anyone run into this after putting in a new motor?? Please help.

inspect the cables as it goes up and down? any fray'd?
also check the pullys for side to sides shimmy.
regulators do wear out to many plastic parts on um these days
also make sure the window is running in the tracks correctly and they are free of dirt and debrisGM TECH
