I was thinking about getting a KN FIPK put on my truck. Someone had told me that it is worthless to do without also getting a MAFsensor.
Any truth to this? any reason i should spend 300 more bucks for the new sensor?
any gains or knoticable difference?
thoughts?
Thanks.

There is no truth to that. Many many people here can tell you that adding an intake is a great upgrade. I installed an aftermarket MAF and found it did give me better throttle response and horsepower, but so did the intake. Also if you get a new MAF, you better have a way to custom tune it such as a predator or a nelson/blackbear tune because the Maf will be letting in more air than it thinks and you will run borderline lean which can cause plenty of problems.

ya--im going to forgo the MAF for now, as i've had other people tell me its not sensible for 300 bucks unless i was to get other upgrades and a upgraded throttle body.
i ended up just getting a Hypertech Max, and fipk CAI..well see what that does for me.
