Ok here is the situation
I just got my power black primer roll pan pretty stoked about it.
My dad says he will paint it for me which is cool but he hasn’t painted a car in like 500 years so I had some questions I wanted answered maybe someone knows a little more about this job.
So my pops has the compressor with his low pressure high volume gun. I bought the respirator and the paint filters for the gun and for filling. I got some 400 grit wet paper and some paint thinner for cleaning the gun and stuff.
I am getting the paint tomorrow from "Library of Paints" in downtown Phoenix. I got the Base coat and clear coat numbers from the glove box. they said about $100 all together for a quart of each.
So my questions are these:
After I clean wet sand and prep the pan how many coats of base color should I have my dad spray?
How many clear coats?
Do I sand between coats?
How long to I let it dry between coats?
I am going to be doing this in my garage which I will have stripped of important stuff and cver up my washer and dryer.
So any comments or answers to my questions would be awesome.
