Anyone have any success removing the factory installed" swooping"type pinstripe decals without damaging paint? Also truck is an 05 in Pewter, can I expect faded paint outlines considerimg the sun isn't that strong up here in northern Alberta?

I wouldn't worry about fading too much. That particular colour especially.
As for taking off the decals... most of the auto parts stores (and probably all auto paint stores) have an attachment for your drill that you can buy. Essentially it's a circular eraser that you take to your decals/pin-stripes with. Body shops use these to take off decals and/or left over glue after taking off molding, accessories, etc.
Good luck, hope this answers your questions!

Heat guns and Goof Off work also.

Thanks guys.I'll give it a shot and let you know how it turns out.
I always use WD-40 and elbow grease, but this is usually
on newer decals like the dealer names and logos.................

I had one that was baked on from the sun and it was a pain but I got it off pretty easy with just a razor blade and some Goo Gone.
I used the razor to lift the edge of the decal and then shoot a little Goo Gone under there and just worked my way down.
Two days after all that work I got rear ended and got the whole thing repainted anyway![]()
I took my my decals when the truck was brand new. Use a heat gun (or hair dryer if you don't have a heat gun) and some 3M adhesive remover and it should be off in no time. As far as the fading goes I doubt you will see anything noticeable because of the color.
