I was searching around and came across the site. I'm from MA. I have a 99 GMC Jimmy and a 93 GMC Sierra ECSB K2500, unfortunately they're both off the road right now so I'm without any vehicle. I go to UMass-Amherst. I like hunting, guns and love GMC and Chevy Trucks.

Both are hand-me-down vehicles.
The Sierra has sat in the yard since Spring 07 since my dad bought an 05 Silverado. At that point it wouldn't pass inspection because of body rot in the cab corners. I periodically started it up to make sure it stayed running (mainly so the battery wouldn't die) until we had the money for the body work. We planned on doing the entire body over at the same time. I moved it around in the yard in January. The next day I started it up and after a couple of minutes of running rough, it died. I tried several times to start it but didn't want to kill the battery. I put some gas down the throttle body and started right up. Ran rough and after a couple minutes it died. Couldn't get it started since. So my guess is either the fuel filter is clogged since I moved it or there is something wrong with the ignition since it doesn't seem like it wants to fire even after trying a little gas down the throttle body and a little starter fluid. It's still insured, but it''s not registered and obviously the inspection sticker has expired.
The 99 Jimmy was a hand-me-down from my mom when she got a new vehicle but it needed a little work. Brakes and possibly ball joints. The ball joints were replaced a year ago by the dealership but the humming is back like it was before. When my mom got her new vehicle, she cancelled the insurance and unregistered it. So it couldn't go anywhere. My parents have been waiting for my next door neighbor (who is a mechanic) to work on it since last fall before they insure and register it but he keeps using the cold as an excuse (even though we've been fortunate to have a couple of warm days recently). So since it has sat there, something is wrong with the 4WD. We don't think it is fully engaging (grinding noise when put under stress).
There isn't a whole lot I can do now that I am back to college except wait... How awesome is that? Two vehicles sitting in the yard...
