07 silverado door speaker size
Hey guys -- wondering what is the correct speaker size for 07 NWBS ext cab in both front and rear...i was on crutchfield and it says either a 51/2 and 6/12 will fit but with modification...do you know what kind of modification is required to make them fit??
also, was wondering if any of yall have any experience with boston accoustic or diamond component speakers?? what do you think?? thanksJerold - Texas

i can tell you first off that i dont think there is a whole lot that can measure up to Bostons!! I had a friend that had a set of boston components and they had more highs and bass then my whole system not too mention they are extremely clean sounding, but thats what you get for a $2000 pair of components. It wont be much modification at all, most likely they have plenty of depth for the bigger ones, it would just require a small plate to drop the speaker into then that plate would attach to the door. i did the same with my burban a 5 1/2 boston in the whole for my 4x10 in the rear, i could probably go to a 6 1/2 and still be fine.99 K1500 Suburban LT "THE BEAST"

i cut the stock speaker out of the stock mount and bolted 61/2 phoenix golds right to it.. worked perfect and you dont have to spend $ on new brackets. I also super glued tweeters on the stock tweeter mount. No need to cut the pillar. Looks stock!

I used a plastic welder and melted the tweeters into my doors
