    Default 1996 silverado 4x4

    Hello all, just joined & lookin for advice on what to look for on a 1996 chevy silverado 4x4 w/water in my oil, any help would be appreciated, thanks...Dave

    either cracked block or the common chevy problem blown head gasket.

    Default water in oil

    That is never good when you find water in your oil. Did you get it from goin offroad or just daily drivin? If just daily drivin, a good possibility is head gasket or intake gasket leaking. Need more info like did it ever run hot, been using coolant? Good luck

    Welcome to the site. As said head gasket is a common problem on the '96, at least the one I had.

    this happened to a kid at my school on his ford. it turned out to be a problem with his oil pan gasket or something like that.

    Head gasket would be my guess as well.
