rough country lift to tall or not?

Thinkinh of getting a lift for my truck and I see that rough country has a 7.5 inch lift for my truck. I do work in a lot of mud and skage so the clearins would be nice but the handling on the highway might not be that good what do you think?

Personally the tallest I've ever considered was a 6", and that was pushing it. As I understand it, for functional purposes, the reason to lift a vehicle is primarily to fit larger tires. I know some serious off roaders that say that the rule is to keep it as low as possible with the largest tires possible. Remember, the higher the lift, the higher the center of gravity.
