in my dash where you can change the air bag to off or automatic i am wondering if you can switch that out and put in the little cubby hole? does anybody know where i can find a kit to do that?
Thanks.
dont know of any kit and if your even able to eliminate the switch entirely. i will tell you this though, before you go unplugging wires, disconnect your battery. not entirely sure if you could accidently set off the airbag but better safe than sorry. the capacitors that hold the charge for your airbag system have the ability to hold a charge for upwards of a half hour. back to eliminating the switch, your probably better off relocating it somewhere behind the dash and leaving it in service just in case something unfortunate happened.

I have an 06 and have a cubby hole in that spot. My truck has a sensor in the seat (permanent auto I suppose), and I want to do the opposite. I'm looking for a template to cut out an aluminum plate to cover the cubby hole for an idea I have involving usb ports and an aux line. I'm sure you can re-fit your 04 to have 06 parts. I just don't know where you can find everything so that it works properly.
I have a 2007 Silverado Classic with a cubby hole in that location as well. I would think the swap wouldn't be too difficult if you can find the parts.
