Default 05" Silverado Rear Window Question

I have a 2005 1500 Z-71 with the one piece rear window with defroster built in, and my dad has a 2005 2500HD with the split rear window in his truck. His rear window was installed after market by the dealer, his truck was originally equipped with the rear window defroster and the one piece window. My question is will his split rear window fit in my truck even though there different model trucks, I know my dad's truck has the harness and switch for the defroster so that's all good on that part. I just want to trade him for my stock one, any help would be appreciated on this thanks.

You might be wondering why I didn't order mine that way, the last three trucks I have bought I have wanted that option and the dealer always told me I would have to wait up to six months for an ordered vehicle and then I would have to wait even longer to have the window put in. I was always in too much of a hurry to get my truck, my dad just lucked out but he doesn't even like the sliding window.

Can't think of a reason why they shouldn't be inter-changeable based on your info, the bodies should be identical in every way and most certainly the rear window, other than that you're just performing the same swap the dealer did with your Dad's truck. hope this helps!

Yeah that helps me out, I was just curious about that because there are subtle changes on the HD versus the Light duty truck. I wasn't sure if that was one of them, I love the sliding window so much and I don't drive my truck in the winter so I don't need the rear defroster. My dad drives his in the snow, so I figured it would be a fair trade. Thanks for your help Adam!

No I don't think I'll be changing my mind any time soon, technically I have been waiting for this sliding window for 10 years when I was 16. I always wanted one in any of my trucks, I don't know why I just think they are cool!
