truck weights

I am looking for a project, I want a full size truck that will move. I want to go before 67, because after had double wall construction and was even heavier. is there a place that I can compare 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton curb weights by year?

The apache trucks 60-61? had a torsion front suspension that is usually shot. is there a fix for this, like later model a frames or earlier drop axle/kingpin type suspensions?

Post war through early 55 were great and light, but are a little trouble fitting v8s in, but it is doable.

Can later frames be used to put older cabs and beds, without too much trouble? does anyone know of a book or some kind of guides about these things? I have owned chev trucks in all the different models in one form or another, I have helped do engine transplants in many.

I am really interested in replacement front suspension for the apache models, since I have a line on one.
