    Question Shaking mirror (side mirror)

Hey everyone. I've got a slight but very annoying problem. My driver side mirror shakes when I'm driving. Every time I look at it it's all moving around and it's kinda hard to see what I'm looking at in it. I put a piece of cardboard behind it but it didn't help very much. Does anyone have any ideas at all at how to get it to stop shaking without replacing the whole thing (just did that because the one on there before was broken). It's on a 95 Chevy Silverado just in case that matters.

My '94 is the same way, but worse. Every time I close the door the mirror moves so that I'm looking at the side of the truck.

There are plastic pushers on the backside of the mirror. Sometimes those pop out of the mirror (they connect like a joint). I would check those first. If they are popped out, then you can press them back in, just don't press too hard. You'll feel them pop in.

if you bow hunt, then you should know what i am talking about, but get a limbsaver and glue it to the mirror. it could help. it will look a little ghetto, but if it helps, then who cares

the only thing I would ask is where did you ger your replacement mirror?? sounds like you got a cheap aftermarket one to me. did you get it on ebay or from a dealer somewhere?? if it was a dealer I'd be going back and asking them abou what kind of warranty there is on the thing.

If you got it off of ebay welcome to my world, we had to learn that one the hard way too and ordered 3 of them off of there before we finally got one that was sturdy.

I got one of those cheap ebay left side mirrors. It looks great but is useless due to wobble. Has anyone tried to figure out exactly where the wobble originates and fix it? Or, has anyone tried to glue a foam pad behind the mirror out of sight to stabilize it?

Is it just the glass that shakes, or the whole entire mirror? Maybe the glass isn't secure? which style mirror is it? Should be the Sail mirror right?

I have a 94 z-71 the drivres side mirror was flopping around, the wind from driving would move it to where I could not see out of it. Remove the plastic cover at the bottom of the mirror and place mirror where you want it. then tighten the screw. This worked for me maybe it will help you.

Its just the glass that shakes. The big metal holder bolts to the truck securely and is pretty sturdy. Of course, there is the adjustor, so my question is has anyone figured out exactly why the glass shakes and what can be done to stabilize it without disabling the electric adjustor.

I just bought a replacement mirror for my wife's suburban (off of ebay) and it works just fine, some of them are just cheaply built and there is nothing you can do to stiffen them up when they have a problem like flopping or vibrating when it is loose. I haven't seen any adjustments on the mirrors we have on both her suburban and my tahoe, both are power and heated mirrors if you have the same one I am totally unaware of an adjustment point on them. here is the ones we have ....

hope this helps but if the mirrors you have are like ours then I really don't know of an adjustment on them anywhere. if not there may be an adjustment but i am not sure where it is. sorry when it comes to GM i am terminally old school. i like my 350's that's why we have 3 of them and one I am converting.
