Default Carb drop in Project HELP!!!

ok so after rebuilding the TBI stock motor in my 95 silverado, the holly 670 TBI was faulty and one of the injectors broke and started spraying fuel everywhere while i was driving!! of course it flooded but not realizing the problem right away i pulled over and tried to turn it over. when i did i got a huge back fire out of the TBI which caught the extra fuel and the air cleaner on fire!!! i was like OMG WHERES MY EXTINGUISHER!!! lol well i havent done a carb swap by myself so i figure why not but i have a few questions. im keeping the same block, ill go with the vortec head and new intake and carb ( probably a 650 cfm ). i know i have to replace the fuel pump with a lower psi one ( around 4-9 psi ) but is there anything else? im probably going to eliminate all the emissions like the smog pump and stuff, is there anything else??

sorry for the lengthly post lol if any of you old school guys have any suggestions about parts let me know and ill tell you with what im goin with.

Sounds about it to me if you're ditching the emissions stuff. Don't you have to pass inspections in CA? Sounds like a fun project, keep us updated on it.

well being that yours is a 95 you don't usually have as much smog control or emissions stuff to work around. depending on where you are it may not matter. you may be able to get by with what you are talking about doing with the regular intake and carb I know a few people that have successfully swapped for holley's and Edlebrock carbs and they trucks ran just fine after words I believe there are by pass plugs for the computer that have to be put in though if you are changing the throttle body out, the upside is that you still have one of the real motors in that one 350 or the vortech and there are all kinds of mods and work arounds for them. I am a leave it stock and maybe tweak the hell out of it kinda guy myself. But I know others like the extreeme mods and such and the best I can tell you is that the swap you mentioned can and has been done. you just have to get the details now to make it all happen the way you want.

ya i hear ya, the only thing im thinking about is 4i should leave all the computer part for the trans if there is any, i got to look into it. bit i know as far as the rest of the motor im pretty sure im ditching all the sensors for the most part and wont have to worry about the wiring harness on the top of the motor. well the harness is burned to a crisp anyway lol. i guess when i start ripping it apart ill start figuring it out...
