Default Good All-Terrains on a Budget?

Well, I'll be needing a new set of tires soon. Right now, I have some Cooper Discoverer ATR's, which I wasn't all that happy with. They were new when I bought the truck last year, and about 20K miles later, they're close to the wear strips on the tread. They also never got very good grip on the road.

I'm wanting to get some aggressive looking all-terrains. The ATR's are technically considered all-terrain, but they more resemble a street tire to me. I want a more aggressive look.

My only restraint is my budget. I'm getting married next month, so my funds are somewhat limited. The size I have now are 265/70/17, which I think is the perfect size for my truck. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Go with the Wrangler ATS if you can find a deal on them. Drop in Costco and look around. You never know what you'll find stacked up there.

I got my Kuhumo ATs @ discount for 532.00$ (all 4 265's mounted balanced and road hazzard)
They are a good tire, and the cheapest tire discount carries. The only other Cheaper AT that discount has is the Pathfinder AT's
I like my tires, they are good in the mud and on the Hwy. and not loud. I have about 11k on mine and they have about 65-70% left on tread, and I drive agressivly.

BFG AT's have been the best tire that I've ever had. I had 2 sets of 'em on my blazer (one set lasted 80k+ miles and still wasn't down to my wear bar. I sold the it when the second set didn't even have 10k miles on 'em. I have wrangler LT's on my truck now and I can't send them. BFG AT's were an excellent all around tire for me...from snow, ice, rain, dunes, trails, mud, etc etc. I got my second set from Discount Tire for $480 OTD. My first set that I got back in '03 were $460. I'm planning getting rid of the tires I have now next fall/winter and getting BFG's.

I've heard good things about the Kumo tires. I've also always had good experiences with the BFG lines as well.

    Congrats on getting married!

Thumbs up Good All-Terrians on a Budget?

I run BFGs. I try others and always go back to the BFG A/Ts. Theyve been making that basic tire forever. Yes they cost more to buy, but if you take care of them (rotate and keep them aired) they last forever. Also they are Round! Alot of cheaper tires arent.

Thanks for all the tips guys! I really dig the BFG A/T's, but figured they may be out of my price range. I'll have to check around different tire shops to see what kind of prices I can find. I'll probably be getting them within the next few weeks, so there will definitely be pics!
