    Default Unidentified V-8

    Hey does anybody know when GM switched from a left side dipstick to the righthand side on the older engines??? How about how to identify V-8 cid. by numbers??

    I found THIS SITE that has a good list of casting numbers.

    is this a loose motor or in a vehicle, you can try to use the vin if its in a car may not be original motor tho, what i did was use the casting numbers off a block i thought was a 400sm and found out it was a 350sm out of a early 80's pickup.
    I just googled the casting numbers and found it

    2003 Z71 Silverado LS
    Access roll up cover
    Bed Rails
    Billet Grill insert
    Bed Rug
    CB with PA system
    Waiting to be installed
    Two 8in RF HX2 punch( would have 12s but they got stolen)
