2009 Chevy Silverado Hybrid
Looks like the new ad campaigns have come out for the new 2009 Chevy Silverado Hybrid. I saw one and sat in it at both the Tarrant County Auto Show and the Dallas Auto Show earlier in the year, and I hope to get to drive one soon.
From what I hear, it's very similar to the advancements made that can be seen in the Chevy Tahoe. I got to drive one of those last year for an extended period of time and I got something insane like 24 MPG in heavy city driving. That impressed the socks off of me! The batteries are even better this year, so reports are that you can go upwards of 30 MPH before the engine kicks on.
If you get a chance to drive one of these, I suggest that you do. It's like driving a 5,000 lb. golf cart! It's whisper quiet until the engine kicks on, and even then it's still very quiet.
Anyhow, check out the ads and/or go to the Chevy or GMC websites. It looke like GMC may be doing a big push as well. They are VERY impressive vehicles and even with gas only averaging about $2.00 per gallon, you'll be well worth the investment in one of these machines.

After a year of promises, GM going bankrupt and being reborn and reforged, I'll get my hands on the Silverado Hybrid to review, starting next week.
