Thread: saving up

    Default saving up

Hi all, I'm in iraq right now till 2010 and I'm saving up for at least an 07.5 and highly considering the 2500 duramax to replace my old 94 dakota (5.2l w/ 11mpg), which i have had for years. Thing is though I really don't need all that power from a diesel but I cant stop drooling over it. From what I am hearing the mpg is often times better than even the 5.3L. Ive been trying to find people to convince me not to get a diesel but all I hear is that diesel is more expensive (obviously but not that much, ive paid 4.75 before i think i can handle 2.00), and they are noisy which is nothing untill you drive in a HMMWV all day. Anyways what do you gents recomend 1500 or 2500 duramax?

Welcome to the site! Diesel is now under $2 a gallon in some areas.

    Thumbs up

I do not think they offer a 1500 with a Durmax. I have a 2500 and love it.

I think in 2010, GM's coming out with a 4.5L deisel for their 1500's but they only come in crew cab short bed, so i say go with the 6.6 2500. 4x4 of course.

    Welcome to the site. !!!!!!

Get the 2500hd with the duramax. If you do anything with it besides just driving (ie. hauling, offroading, ....) you will be completely satisfied.
