I also have the stock Z71 5 star rims (not sure if they are different then other models). 16" by 6 lug. I posted pics of my truck in the user gallery, so you can check out the visual to confirm.

Saw the pics in the photo gallery, looks pretty smooth. Nice looking truck.

I put a set of 275/70/17's on my 4x4 Crew Cab. They are the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor's. Unless you have a Z71 I don't think you can go any larger. These are a tight fit, but no rubbing. I also think backspacing come into play with fitiment. I put American Racing "Fuel" rims in a 17", and they have a 5" backspacing, which is pretty close to stock.

    Default wheels and tires

I have a 99 Z71 standard cab.I kept the stock wheels and replaced the tires with bfg a/t kos.The noise is hardly noticable and they ride great.I have never had a problem on or off the road. I have put the bfg a/t kos on all my trucks. If you notice chevy always puts them on the hummers.there must be something to that.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about my Trailblazer even. 50k miles on my BFGs and still plenty of tread and they handle great in the rain and offroad too.

Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo. I can't say enough good things about this tire. Chunky tread to get through mud and snow yet siped for good wet traction too and zero road noise from these tires at any speed. Put a set of these on my dad's 04 2500HD GMC and even upsized to 265/75r16. He drives everywhere, carries heavy loads and plows snow with this truck and is thouroghly impressed with these tires. The truck even rides much better with the larger size.

How does it ride better? Smoother? Also, what do you mean zero road noise, none at all or just not a roar?
