    Default 2001 2500 vs 2001 2500HD. whats the diff

What are the differences between the 01 2500 and 2500HD?

    I'm looking at a 2001 2500. It has the 8 lug wheels, and a 6.0? I assume it's a 4l60e vs a 4l80e? what else?

    Any help is appreciated!

Front suspension is identical except the HD's front rotors are slightly thicker. HD's use either an AAM1050 or AAM1150 rear diff, the regular 2500 8 lug uses an AAM950. Rear frame section on the HD is 2" taller and the body is mounted 2" higher on the frame. Rear Torsion Bar cross members and mounts are different on the HD. The Allison, 6.6 Dmax and 8.1 are available on the HD. HD's use a taller radiator(Depending on Engine) plus is has a 600lb higher GVW than the regular 2500 8 lug. The TC in the HD's are different than the regular 2500 8 lugs. Also the 2001 2500 8 lug uses the 4L80E and not the 4L60E Trans. Hope this helps

You're most welcome, You wouldn't believe how many times I've seen that question asked. There should be a sticky, and then just cut and paste it when someone needs/wants an answer.
