    Default Windshield wipers wont "park"?

I searched the forums but couldnt find anything about my wipers. I have a 96 Chevy z-71. the wipers work perfectly except the dont go all the way down. On the upstroke, the drivers side wiper goes past the edge of the windshield. Is there any kind of adjustment so that they "park" at the bottom of the windshield?

there is a sensor that the wiper motor uses to "park" the wipers, it was very common on older W-body cars in the lte 90's so any part store should know exactly what you are asking for but that is what you need

IM not sure, but I was thinking that the wiper arm studs were keyed so that they only go on in 1 position. Ill have to look

If they are going off the windshield then they are splined wrong. If thpark sensor was wrong they would just not park correctly. The travel is limited by the linkage so if they are set up right and the park sensor was bad then they would not go off the window. My wife's Toyota Sienna had the splines slip and the wipers did the same thing you are describing.

i agree. Either someone at one time removed the arms and indexed them wrong or the linkage is worn to where there's too much slop.

do you live where there is snow or ice? i see it all the time in the winter people try to push the snow off the window by turning the wipers on and sometimes when its heavy enough it will bend linkages or make the wiper arm slip, same with ice people go out and try to de-ice the window by running the washers and end up bending something
