hey there from alaska
hey guys and gals. my name is garrett and i'm currently stationed here in AK. i don't have a brand new truck with all the bells and whistles, but what i do have is a 2001 1500HD with 235,000 miles on her. i love my truck and depend on it for work and play. i live in a community with no trash service, and we heat almost entirely through the winter on wood. thats about 11 cords a year for us. besides getting rid of trash and bringing in all our fire wood, i am fortunate to live near some of the best fishing and hunting in the world. i use my truck to haul my boat to my favorite rivers, and my wheeler to my favorite trails. she doesn't go off road anymore, just highway now. the only real repairs i've had to make have been an alternator at 200K, and i rebuilt the tranny with a friend at 220K. now, i have another issue, but i'll post that in the appropriate section. thanks all, and good luck.

2000 silverado with a 5.3l v8, shorty headers, upgraded plugs, 10 mil wires, magnaflow high flow cats, flowmaster 80 series muffler(2 in 2 out) w/ 18 inch stainless silverline tips. i have a k&n CIA. its a 4x4 z71 offroad package. Ls model.
extended cab 160k miles, truxedo low profile bed cover, diablo sport predator tuner.
reman tranny @ 130k miles
