Default lifting my 2wd 07 sierra??

hey i am new to this site and im glad i joined. there is a lot of valuable info. anyway, i wanna lift my 2wd 07 sierra but the guy at les schwab said it would only be able to go aboiut 2.5in. Is this the only height i can raise it being that is only 2wd? and would lifting it void my GM warranty?

Welcome to the site! Is your truck a "NBS" or "Classic" style? There are several different "lifts" for 2wd "classic", including "spindle lifts". This is normally 3" of lift. I'm not sure about the NBS, as the front suspension is different. Same goes for the voiding queston, I don't have any information on that. Good luck!

Do you need bigger brakes with bigger tires? NO
Would you want them on the truck after you lift it? MAYBE

I always thought that you would need bigger brakes too, but I have had my truck for 4 years now and I have only had one close call. I have a 6" lift with 35" tires, stock disc brakes up front and stock drum brakes in the back. I think it brakes fine but then again I don't drive it like Mario Andretti, personally I think the only trucks that NEED upgraded brakes are really big lifted trucks running like 44" swampers or a truck with a ton of horsepower where you need to stop as fast as you start.

As far as the warranty thing goes where I live in Ohio, I couldn't find a dealer that would keep the warranty after I wanted to lift it. That is why I bought a dealer lifted truck, but they are super expensive and you can't count on them being around to back the warranty's. I always hear people talk about the Magnuson Moss warranty act, but I am telling you I have NEVER seen any dealer oblige that so I can't vouch for it. A lot of the guys do leveling kits, maybe that is a way to do it without voiding the warranty. Hope this helps..........AMY

shouldn't mess anything up with your truck. Just get an alignment when you're done and you're good to go
