Thread: Brake Pads

    Default Brake Pads

Have 2004 Silverado 1500 LS that needs brake pads. Noticed it on tire rotation. Haven't started to squeal yet but want to change em before it does. I tow a bass boat about 30 miles per month. The rest of the time I'm on the interstate commuting about 300 miles per week to work (not towing). What pads should I go with? Metallic, low metallic, green, or ceramics? Money is not nearly the issue as much as functionality for what I'm doing. I like the dustless ceramics but are they gonna be okay for those times when I tow?
    thanks

    EBC Yellowstuff.

I use those in all my vehicles. Even on my 1996 3500 p/u which tows a 45' cattle trailer.

Yep we use nothing but the EBC green stuff on our trucks and cars, it's also good for reducing all of the brake dust that normally comes off of brake pads. Ceramic pads are good too, my dad likes them on his older cars I think he uses Bendix brand but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I would go with a good semi-metallic pad

    2003 Z71 Silverado LS
    Access roll up cover
    Bed Rails
    Billet Grill insert

    Waiting to be installed
Two 8in RF HX2 punch( would have 12s but they got stolen)

Went with ceramics this time around and have liked them so far no real dust and they stop good.
