1989 roof

i had a 1980 blazer that the roof was double walled, i drilled through the inside and mounted a overhead gun rack.no holes went all the way threw, my question is, on a 1989 suburban, does anyone know if they are double walled. thanks..

I would say probably not. I've got an '88, and it's only double walled for about a 2 inch strip around the perimeter where things such as sun visors, grab handles, & coat hooks screw in. other than that it's single walled. I know, because I've got the headliner out for re-covering, & while it's out I punched a hole in the roof & ran the harness for a light bar I installed on the roof rack.
