Intake, exhaust, headers, electric fan, throttle body spacer(some might say it's shenanigans, but i dont believe them), synthetic oil(for longer life), custom tune, high flow cats, bore out your engine. Just a few off the top of my head, I'm sure others have more input.

A turbo charger is a big bang for the bucks. Why would you want 500 HP anyway for a truck. It takes alot of cash to get there.

Just want to make a nice project trunk. My plan is to turbo it in about a year. But I just want to shut up all these cars around by town.

you need to pay the price and just get you some bad ass trick flow heads, that will give you the most horse power for a decent price, then go with a new intake/ turbo, get some racing headers from head man, and bore your motor/ stroke your motor, chip it so you can take your govner off. get some good forged piston and a voodoo cam/ new lifters and i think you will be either at 500hp or over, specially if you get the turbo, ........then maybe get you a 200 shot of nitrous, bet you will be up in the 800hp if you do all of that.

You need to make it a serious project truck to get that horse power.

This can help. Got an extra $5k sitting around.
