I just bought a 2004 silverado 1500 ext cab truck, so im relatively unfarmiliar with it still.
This morning it was wet snowing on my way to work, i was driving 62 mph. I noticed my rearview mirror temp gauge and lights on the rearview mirror would turn off and then turn back on, off and on. The lights on the mirror and everything on the rearview mirror only....nothing else. No errors, codes, or SES light came on either.
Then when i slowed down to under 55mph it stayed on permanently like it should be. Is this because i was driving too fast when the thing was flashing "ICE"? or is there a problem somewhere?
Please help, its making me mental! Its hard driving when the thing is flashing at me at 4:00am when its pitch black outside.

Welcome to the site! I have an '04 and have never had this prolem. I have had the "ICE" warning come on, but it didn't do what yours is doing. Maybe some of the folks from the "COLD" country will have some info., good luck!

does anybody know where the plug in for the mirror is at?
There is no plug on the backside of the mirror.
Im thinking the plug may be loose

I haven't had my lights go all the way out. The manual says that the mirror has an automatic dimmer to set the light level to reduce glare. There is a green light to the left of the on/off button. If the light is on the automatic dimming in on. To turn it off press and hold the on/off button for about 6 seconds. Hope this helps!
