i have an 03 siliverado and i really wanna put a chip into it it has a 5.3 in it with a airaid intake system and soon to be a cat back system in it...any ideas on a chip for it??
I think that programmers are the way to go, a buddy of mine put a chip in his 2006 F-150, and it's screwed now. So, he traded it. Besides with a chip you don't decide what happens, but with a programmer you decide, and you can always turn it back to stock if you don't like it!

Iuse the Diablo Preditor Programmer because it lets you fine tune your truck more than Hypertech and Superchips programmers.
There's always the option of getting a custom tune, which has its pros and cons. I have mine tuned from Blackbear performance and I love it.

i tried the chip thing, and it made the adverse affect of lessening my power and performance. so i got the diablo sport predator, and i love it!

I'd definitely consider a custom tune from one of the many great guys out there using EFI Live or HPTuners.
I've been back and forth with this same issue in my head countless times, and each time I end up leaning towards the custom tune. The handhelds are just too conservative with what they allow you to change, and not to mention generic. With the custom tune, you can tell the guy tuning it exactly what you have done to the truck and how you want it to drive.

I heard Hypertech is the best???
Now you dont have to worry because wait4meperformance sells custom tuned hand heald tuners just like a super chip or diablo but with custom tunes installed for you specific vehicle needs. I just got one on the way to me.

I bought the Superchips cortex for my 04 sierra 5.3L and yeah theres a noticeable difference in power but its not worth 435 bucks to me if your looking for a real horsepower gain go the right way and supercharge it you will only be happy with the programer for a few days then you will realize you wasted your money and the 2-3 mpg more doesnt add up if you drive a truck you should be able to afford the gas to put in it. just my 2 cents there
