    Default Driver Information Center

Hey all, I know this topic has been around the forum in the past. I just thought I'd let everybody know that I just installed the DIC buttons in my 09 Silverado. It was extremely easy, and took about 20 minutes total. These buttons are a real convenience with information like distance til empty, tire pressure, and many other features. If you don't have the DIC buttonsI highly recommend you spend the $90 and order one. You can easily install it yourself, no wireing needed! I'll be more than happy to answer questions!

For the cheap do-it-yourselfers, the switch can be had by itself for installation in your old panel for less than $30, but you do have to cut out the hole. Just a thought.

Order GM #15947841. That's the switch.

Look for Instrument Panel, Display Switch.
Looks like they've gone up a bit. You can always shop around.

Is the wiring harness already there? so all you did was buy the DIC panel and plug it in? did you have to flash the computer?

The wiring harness is either plugged to the backside of your existing panel or wrapped around the dashboard wiring . All you have to do is plug it into the new switch. No computer flashing required. You can either:
    1. Buy the panel assembly (panel and switch as one unit) for $75 to $120.
    2. Buy the switch and the panel as separate items and save some money.
    3. Buy only the switch and cut out the panel you already have and save big bucks.
    It's up to you.
