    Default fabtech vs. procomp

OK i hit a dilemma now. I am able to get the procomp 6" and fabtech 6" for the same price. I hear the fabtech increases the cv angles. The I hear the pro comp breaks center links. I was ordering the pro comp when i was offered either kit for the same price. Oh man I need help choosing now.

    Cool fabtech vs procomp

Id go with Fabtech. We installed many Fabtech kits with no major issues. Tried Pro Comp on my personal Suburban and removed after a few months. Suburban handled bad, made all kind of suspension noises, it was junk. Replaced with Rancho kit and no problems.

I'm not a huge fan of procomp. I would go fabtech as well.

RANCHO FTW! Subframe is one welded piece, not bolted together parts like others. I love mine, you may lose .5 inch, the 4" is more like a 5.5" lift.

I have no experience with either Fabtech or Pro-comp but like you I did plenty of research as to what lifts were better than others. I was steered away from Fabtech more than once and maybe it was just the lift is different for our HD's but I'm sure any Fabtech owner will stick by their lift. I frequent a few Duramax or GM HD sites that deal with lifts primarily for HD's and the popular company seems to be Cognito. Tuff Country is another popular lift as well and when choosing mine, it was the leading lift installed at Les Schwab and they work with the dealerships and there lifted vehicles as well. There are less-expensive kits out there but if you are like me and have a bunch of money invested in your truck, it's hard to scrimp on quality. My truck rides like a Cadillac with my 6" lift compared to stock. Good luck with your choice!

I have had both procomp and fabtech and the fabtech that I currently have is a little smoother but my turn radius is very limited I am not sure if that has to do with the susp. lift. How can that be fixed?

Ok i talked to four shops about both kits. Superior off road, four wheels parts, pacific truck performance, and carl's alignment. They all said fabtech is an easier install since your lift is the spindles, however for the HD they said it had turing radius issuses and CV axle boots wore out quickly. They all said if I was willing to do the work the pro comp is the way to go, and drops the differential a full 6 inches not 4.5 like the fabtech. Since three places were willing to get me the kit for the same price, they basically just gave me info on experience installing them. both kits require cutting and they recommend upgrading to spicer idle arms and pitman arms as well as tie rod ends. I'm leaning towards the pro comp.... hmmm

Oh man I have finals next week and now this dilemma.. ha ha ha
