1984 Chevy C20 Fuel Pump
Ok, so we just replaced the fuel pump on my friends truck(1984 Chevy C20 350/TH350), and now it idles perfectly, but if we even touch the gas pedal it dies instantly. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Low fuel pressure? Or maybe a faulty accelerator pump circuit. Pull the air cleaner and see if you can see gas spray into the carb when you work the accelerator. At idle you are probably pulling enough gas to keep the engine running. The carb has an accelerator pump gives the carb a shot of gas to smooth out the change from idle to running.
Also check for a vacuum leak. There is no way to happiness....happiness is the way.:yipi:
