    Default front end higher??

    This is my 1st post.............
I just bought a 1988 Silverado Burb. The front end seems higher than the rear end. Is this normal? There is much more clearance between the tire and fender in the front, which might be causing an illusion - but - I also measured from the running board to the ground in front and in the back, and there is an inch difference. I used to have a 2004 and it seemed level.
    Thanks, Tom

PS - The front end has 2 shocks per side, and the back end has only 1 shock per side.

The fender wells contribute to this illusion and the shape/slope of the stripe (Assuming your's has two tone factory style paint) does also.

Sounds like your burb doesn't have stock suspension. If you have gas shocks, it could add a little lift.
"Rake" is more a function of taste anyway. Some like 'em level, some like 'em higher on one end or the other.
Adjust yours to match your preference.

The baja type "look" has the appearance of a higher front end.

sounds normal to me. My 1995 burb sagged in the rear like crazy. If the previous owner towed with it a lot the leafs could be flattened out in the rear. A new set of leaves, an add a leaf, or a block (last resort) may fix the problem

Two up front and one in the rear IS from the factory and yes they will sag but just put a block or add a leaf in the rear, even from the factory they had a very slight sag. Parents had a couple from the 88-91 era and they were both like that brand new

Thanks for all the replies - I do prefer it more level. Is adding a block or leaf something worth tackling in the driveway, or should I have it done by a shop?

Never done leafs but heard they can be a pain to line back up if they come loose from the bundle, a small block is pretty easy though

What is the procedure for installing blocks, and are there choices of blocks?
