Default I just dropped my tank and did my fuel pump!

    .............all by myself! holy bajezzus!

    I have a 96 gmac Suburban! 2wd 5.7 k1500

as we all know the dang fuel pumps in those just weren't made to last So today I dropped mine and replaced it.
    on with my question
while I had it out I noticed a wire not connected ; you have four wires coming out the pump and three of them go into a harness and 1 does not (Grey wire?) where does that wire go? and why was it not connected? or was it and did I break it when I lowered my gas tank? totally scrathen my head on that one and cant sem to find any answers any where. I called two parts buddys, AC DELCO (ha) looked in the book, looked on ALLDATA nothing? I did see a grey wire (insructions) but it was for another application (I think) like maybe a later 96/97 or 98 even? dunno? anyways any help would greatly be appreciated!
p.s as of now I havnt gotten it started but thus far I was chalking it up to the lack of gas in there?

If you made it this far thanks for reading!
    and thanks ahead!
