I feel more comfortable knowing that my emergency brake is working (it might even be a legal requirement in some states?). Although I have never had to use them in an emergency, it’s nice to know they are available. I had a problem with e-brake pads last year (spring clip that keeps them deactivated came loose they were dangling!) and drove to a local repair shop and had them repair it. I guess I took the easy but more costly route to resolve the problem!

Sorry that I can’t help you with your DIY project, good luck.

It was around $75, mostly labor because the part to replace was cheap. You have a different issue with the cable though so your $$ will likely not be the same.

I'm sure you'll get some great advice around here.
