Hey all
Just wondering if somone can help me out on a small problem I am having. I have a 2001 chevy silverado 1500 ext cab 4wd 5.3L engine. The problem i am having is with the fuel gauge. If I let the truck sit idling or even when driving down the road the fuel gauge just goes to empty. I also noticed it does it alot when I just fill up the truck. I am guessing its the sending unit in the tank but before I go and drop the tank I just wanted to hear from a couple people here to see if you guys think I am right or not. Any help would be great
thanks

Thank you very much for the help

I have a similar issue as well, it occured after I replace the fuel pump in my 99 Tahoe with one from a national part store (not sure if we should name names here). Shortly after this replacement my guage started bouncing all over, never giving and acurate reading. Is the sensor part of the pump assembly?
