While you wait for people to speak up, do a search for your application on cold air intakes and I'm sure you'll have more than a day's worth of reading. This subject has been brought up a number of times.

www.sbfilters.com You more or less have to do a PCM tune for any CAI to be worthwhile because of the MAF.

I also own a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 z71 with a 5.3l. K&N 57 series is a good intake, if you're not looking to put on a throttle body spacer. Because if you do want to put a throttle body spacer on later, for a little more off the line power, you will not be able to fit the K&N 57 series, with a throttle body spacer. I know, from personal experience. I have an AirAid PowerAid throttle body spacer, and an AirAir Cold Air Intake kit on my truck. Both intakes gave very similar results, but my AirAid has given more, as i have the throttle body spacer, and the Cold Air Intake on at the same time. So, that's just one thing to think about. If you want both an intake and a spacer, do not buy a K&N unless you want to do some modifying!

    Good luck with your search!
