in the 2500Hd you have the 4L80E tranny.
P0894 code is Transmission component slipping.

drive it till it dies, and rebuild it.
thats what I would suggest.
you could get 100k on it, or 10k, you never know...but either way... you can limp it to the shop.

just happens man, its the way of things. HAuling and not using a tranny cooler? wrong oil? so on and so forth.

bringing old thread back, Am having the same problem here, and I have had the trans changed but that did not solve the problem, any ideas!
A P0894 as you know is a slip code. The PCM sees a difference between input and output speed and the calculation indicates a slip. A can be a torque converter slipping or a faulty speed sensor or something causing a false signal that the PCM sees as a slip. You can throw parts at this but the best way to pinpoint the problem is to drive the vehicle while watching the PIDS on a scanner. You can see if the speed sensors are working correctly and that the torque converter is or isn't working as it should. You will need a professional scanner to do this like a Tech II, Snap On or the like.
