Default Ready to help me with my Suburban?

Hi, I'm Rachael. I'm in college, and gonna be home for the summer in about a week. My parents have a 98 Surburban that they have beaten the crap out of... they don't really keep up with maintainance. It's really a nice truck, got the heated seats and everything, custom redneck paint job (not done by us, lol. although it's grown on us over the years!). But it hasn't been taken care of at all. Pretty sure the plugs and everything are original at 160K. They have maintained the cooling system pretty well though, at some point someone told them about the issues associated with neglecting Dex-cool systems. But the interior is gross, coffee stains, hay, dirt.. it hauled horses and was a barn truck for quite some time and it shows. Really psyched to give it the TLC it deserves and restore it to its original pimp-ness.

also as you can see, my sister scraped a telephone pole with it. gonna have to get a JY door, but the paint job is obviously difficult to do. however, I have a friend that does paint that might help me out repainting the whole car. We'll see.

and I just don't know what to do with these wheels... this is after washing them and the black dust is just perma-bonded to them

Looks like a good starting point for a great cruiser.
The body damage doesnt look to bad, other than a new door you should be able to work some of that out and fill it with plastic filler. Looks like a good chance to learn how to do bodywork.
The color looks like pewter with a sky blue fog applied at the bottom, you probably could never get it perfect but I bet with a little effort you could do a passable patch job until it's time for a new paint job.

wow thanks everyone!! i think it's a great truck too, it's just been neglected and underappreciated. can't wait to give it some love! does anyone recognize those wheels? i know the car originally came with chrome wheels, and then my parents sold them and put these on. are they factory, or some kind of aftermarket? i like them better than any of the stock suburban wheels i've seen.

i'll be starting on it on monday. gonna begin with the interior, taking out the seats and carpet- then power-washing the carpet. haven't taken a gander at the seats yet, are they pretty easy to get out? i guess what i should really be wondering is how easy the center console is to get out... i should probably start a thread, eh
