    Default Smaller Rims?

I have an 05 Silverado 1500 reg cab short box with front discs and rear drums and i'm wondering if anyone knows if i can put smaller rims on my truck. It came with 17 inchers on it and im not sure if 16s will fit but if anyone knows i would love to be informed.

Pretty sure 16's won't fit on the front because the brakes are bigger than the '04, check this post out for more info:

17" rims are the smallest that can be used on the 2005. I've taken a 16 and 16.5" rims and tried to physically put them on. They do not fit.

The only way it will fit is if you go with a facotory GM STEEL wheel. The barrel on an aluminum rim will rub the calipers on the front. I would not advise it at all. Just curious, but why do want to go smaller?

they should fit chevrolet did make the front calibers bigger so they should fit in the front. my 07 nbs has a 16 inch rim on the spare tire and the rest are 17s look at ur spare and if its a 16 try in bolt it on and see
I own a 2007 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab (new body style). my truck is Red and has the 4.8, basically stock but i got big plans.

Well thanks for the info and i will have to check my spare for sure, and i just like smaller rims, plus tire options are more diverse and generally cost less, but whatever im not going to lose any sleep over it.
