i bought an 87 chevy, at first the injectors were cutting out after 3 seconds. hooked up to charger to get power, engine was turning over then cutting out again after 3 seconds. then lost all power to entire truck. no headlights, no nothing at all. any suggestions on what this could be?
If you've load tested the battery to make sure it's good check your battery cables. You could have a loose connection at either end or even a bad cable.

Take your alternator in and have it tested, that would be my first guess. Also start checking all of your connections for the ignition, and your distributer and wires.

Start at the battery and work towards the truck. Side terminal batteries are known to have connection issues.
If the battery load tests fine, then check the condition of both the positive and negative cables.
Fusible links can cut major power the vehicle too.
Your truck should start and run on a fully charged battery (for awhile) even if the alternator isn't working. However the battery is just for starting the truck.
The alternator's job is to supply the electrical needs of your truck while its running and to recharge the battery.
