Default Modifications - replacements - upgrades etc..... [Expired Topic]

I am in the middle of a major decision process on my Suburban, I am going to do some signifigant work on my truck this fall, exterior, interior and maybe even rebuild the motor (may put that last one off for a while only has (170k on it).

So I want to know what exterior modifications other folks have done to their Suburbans. I have a cowl induction hood and an updated front grill and new front tube bumper with a light bar already but I bet there are some pretty wild mods that somebody else has done that are worth considering.

Picked up a 99 Suburban 7.4L 454 about a year ago and so far I've put in the Volant CAI. Next is going to be a Flowmaster II dual exhuast system. Some other future upgrades will be custom car PC with navigation, DVD, MP3, WMA player, Hypertech programmer, and others as I think more about it. Let the fun begin :D

I have the standard 350 at the moment....

Good to see I'm not alone in the quest for "improvement" Ellis. Exhaust is on my short list also, I have done it once already but with basically a stock replacement.

I really haven't made any significant changes. I'm not sure if I want dual exhaust, or to go with headers and a custom 4 inch diesel pipe. I do have plans for an on board PC much like what Ellis described but I'm going to be building that from scratch. Lastly that '93 dash/interior has got to go!

I can't help but modify everything I own. When I adopted my Suburban the first thing I did was advance the injection pump timing, then increase the fuel rate of the injection pump, followed by modifying the air intake for increased airflow, and then new unrestricted Magnaflow dual exhaust with balance pipe. I have been working on an intake manifold design for a 6-71 blower(most Diesel trucks have turbos which do work excellant, but I want something a little different). As for the rest of the truck I've added additional exterior lights and I am working on a custom overhead console for the interior and a list too long of other things I haven't found the time yet to do.
    Ron :D
