Ok i just purchased a 98 tahoe. The only question i have is its a 4wd truck but i cant find the switches for it. My truck is a recon title recovered theft interior parts where stolen. the das appears to be one of those pieces. any recomemdations on looking for the buttons or maybe there is no button?thanks guys.

If you were sitting in the drivers seat it would be on a small panel next to the steering wheel, just to the right, if i was at home i would snap you a pic of mine but am at work till 630 am I can take one then if nobody else has done so

its not there i dunno what the deal is

The may be a filler plate where the switch is supposed to be but behind there is the molex plug for the switch
if you pull off the dash you should see the harness.
You can then hit up ebay or the junk yard and get a new switch it will just snap in where te blank spot is now.
The dash just snaps in its really easy to take loose
I will try to get a pic if no one post it later

Another way to tell is that in '98 4x4s had 6 lug wheels and 2x4s had 5 lug wheels.

its got 6 lugs there is a filler plate i pulled it off no plug behind it. im guessing is tucked in behind the dash. or when the dash was replaced im hoping they didnt swap it with a 2wd dash and dash harness.
does anyone have a picture of the plug both the back of the switch and the plug end.
thanks
the switch may have been stolen with the other dash parts and when the parts were replaced a new switch was not purchased. if you can take the dash plate off or at least loose enough to see behind it you may see the wires or a plug back there behind the dash plate but it as others have said is supposed to be either a shifter on the floor or a button on the dash just to the right of the ignition switch on the dash it's self. Might see if you can look at another one like it year wise in a car lot
