I just replaced both inner and outer tie-rod ends on my 2001 Suburban. I the took it to be aligned, and was told that the inner joint was too stiff to rotate for aligment. They feel that it's a defective tie-rod end. Both the left and right side are the same. I don't know what the chances of buying 2 bad parts are. Has anyone had a problem like this?
Thanks,
Steve

What brand tie rod ends were they?
Usually the joints for tie rod ends are pressed together and arent adjustable, I have had some that took a lot of effert to move but after some use they loosen up.
What was the recommendation from the shop?
Did they offer to replace them (at a cost of course).

I got the tie-rods from Autozone. Apperantly they are very stiff. I inspected them today, and was able to turn them, so I took it back to the shop and a different mechanic was able to align it. So all is well for now.
