Default Door hinges, and spring [Expired Topic]

I've already changed out my hinge pins, and bushings. Big fun, when trying to do this alone. I'm thankful for my tree, come-along winch, and towstrap, all of which served to suspend the door in place.
What I've had repeated problems with is putting that spring back in place!
I just can't figure out the best/easiest/only way to put the spring back in. Anyone have any advice?

    Thanks!

they make a tool for removeing the spring, cost about $10. , you simplly push onto door spring, tighten nut to compress spring. leave the spring inside the tool until time to put back in then simply put spring back in and loosen nut to put spring back.
used one when replaceing pins on my fiero and belive me its worth every penny of its cost. instead of messing around trying to pry spring out, and trying to pry spring back in, a real nuckle buster without the tool. most good parts stores should have it on hand, and worth 2 or 3 times the price!

anouther tool that is indespencable for this is a ratchet wrench to tighten and loosen nut for the tool.make the whole job of removeing and installing spring take min. insted of hours.

Thanks! I'm going to look into that. I'd tried prying the spring back into place, which usually just resulted in the spring shooting out across the yard. :?

Those are slick tools, very similar I would assume to the clamps for the A arm springs on the hot rod Man those are a handy tool.
